Crafty Things

Earlier this week I spent three or four nights staying up till midnight listening to episodes of "This American Life" online while working on my first ever sewing project using a pattern.  The kitties did their share by faithfully sleeping next to my project every single night.

Between the fabric and interfacing (also a first), I cut out a total of 14 pieces and slowly sewed the bits together...

The outside and inside pieces have POCKETS!!

Attaching the outsides:

This part was NOT EASY!!:

Ta daaaa...bottoms!

Finishing the straps...

And, VOILA!

A styling "market bag."

Double voila, it's reversible!!

I dig it.  The pattern was pretty frustrating in more than one place because I think the woman who wrote it left out a few significant steps, but overall I'm quite pleased :)

Now, on to more new things!

  2. I'm so impressed. I'm awed!...actually when I first started looking at the pictures I thought you were making an apron like gramma O'Keefe used to wear. The colors are great.
