San Frantastic!

Yeah, California was AWEsome!!  It was hard to believe that I was sweating my butt off in Georgia one day, then dressed in a vest and Alayna wore a scarf the next.  Despite some chilliness, I forgot how colorful and full of flowers Berkeley is.
This incredibly pretty "house" was right across the street from the porta-jon at a park where we picnicked with Annie and her friends.

Here we are looking like a Clearasil commercial, but seriously were having a great time together.

See what I mean??  Flooooooowers!

On the way to the city is the Port of Oakland which is home to a ton of cranes that we learned inspired George Lucas to create the giant Walkers in Star Wars.

Dr. Annie's graduation was the nicest University graduation we've ever been to.  So proud of her!!

And as Alayna already mentioned, here is the graduation market bag I made for her, more easily seen here.

San Francisco was so pretty with all their hanging flower baskets.

Then we took the Bart and a ridiculously long bus ride to get to the beach where we just barely caught the start of the San Fran to Santa Cruz stage of the Tour de California.

Then spent the rest of the day walking around and getting burned.

and not swimming.

 and seeing more flowers.

And happened to catch this dude creating large scale sand art!  Click on the picture so you can see the cyclist he also drew down there.

On our last day, I spotted these amazing pterodactyl plants.  I don't know WHAT they are, but I LOVE them.

 Can you see the resemblance?

  1. Wow, awesome blog post! I should have waited until I wasn't in a heat-sick bad mood to do mine.

You and the pterodactyl flower both have the same squint.
