Coming Home

We'll be coming home 7/1 - 7/13. We're really excited about the trip...do we still want to do an all encompassing family portrait? if so, what will the dress attire involve? open forum? or are we going to do a uniform type piece? if so, then the texas paquettes are partial to khaki pants/shorts. somebody needs to do some scheduling - not it! also, i'd like to find a way that we could do more "family" type activities such as several spaghetti dinners (gary and sue - some sticky pasta please) plus several family outings to various places in the surrounding environs. last year, we really enjoyed the trips to the battleship mass, clif walk, and climbing the rock in mass where dad and gary grew up (i can't remember the name). i was thinking about visiting the Sprague House in Cranston; supposedly very haunted. The kids, sam and lily in particular, are really looking forward to the trip and we would like to incorporate as much family time as possible. i was also thinking about visiting the clambake club - always wanted to do it, we can sneak in a hotdog for dale. we'll be taking the kids to NH for a few days later in the trip, but otherwise; as much as we can be together, the better. i know that all y'all have jobs, but whatever we can make work would be great.

  1. Not it!!!

(I don't own anything khaki, so we're going to have to pick a different theme)

  2. Awesommme! Ok, then I'm going to work and putting in for that first week of July too. Please note---I do not own khaki bottoms. Also! Alayna and I know a photographer I went to school with who I'd like to suggest for our photo shoot. She does a lot of surf and local Newport-y stuff. I'm also planning to have a water balloon "situation" with the kids while I'm there.

  4. Spaghetti it is.
Photographer has already been hired. Professional.
Consider the Quonset Air Museum. Only air museum where you can actually touch the planes and sit in some of them. How about a picture of Sam in the pilot's seat of an $-14?

  6. Definitely casual - but neat! I can set up may D80 (Gary has an even better Cannon)to shoot multiple shots in quick succession so no one has a chance to blink. We can do exposure bracketing to get the best possible. This way we have real time control over time and place. (If we get someone else, then we have to schedule and contend with weather changes and the like. Maybe in late morning 4 July when everyone will be here anyway. I'm working on a surprise or two - secret for now. I'm also determined to get a green screen shot of the kids for a high tech SiFi movie. Unfortunately, there's too many of us for a family boat ride. I'm looking for a bow and arrow target. There are some great "forest" places with great climbing close by. Maybe Gary can figure a unique geo-cache. Maybe there'll be a haunted walk in Newport or possibly water fire?
