Who'll Stop the Rain?

Enough already. What have we had? Something like 18 inches in March so far? Stop already! Nothing in my basement so far but I'm still holding my breath. Roads closed everywhere. Even Rt. 1 in North Kingstown. Cranston and Pawtucket are submerged. We have to put floaties on Lili when she goes out to pee! Good thing that climate change is only a theory and a hoax or we could all be in trouble. The republican mayor of Cranston was the first one to go crawling to the feds for a bailout. Don't get me started.

  1. we had six inches of snow last weekend and it is supposed to be 85 today. winter to summer just like that. i'm going to put an attic fan in the roof next weekend. do you think that i need to close up the whirlybirds or will they not affect the cooler air coming in from the soffit vents?

  2. I heard RI and MA are in states of emergency! The Pawtuxet is threatening to overflow and the National Guard are on call??? Holy crap!! It's been positively beautiful here...sunshine and 70s. I'm not trying to rub anyone's face in it, but Spring here is the best...it's our longest season.

  4. whirlybird is the name i've given to the heat vents on the roofs that just spin in the wind (and of course from the heat escaping the attic). they're passive, unlike the attic fan which runs on a thermostat. i'm also debating between straight electric or solar powered. do the solar panels require a change of rechargable batteries or are the panels self sufficient?
